Rushcombe First School's first ‘Global Arts Week’
Rushcombe First School children enjoyed their first ‘Global Arts Week’ to raise their awareness of the wider world and discover different cultures.
Each year group studied a different country or continent including Africa, Australia, India, Brazil and China. The children used their creative talents to make masks, kites and printed fabrics.
They also experienced a range of different languages and discussed topical issues such as deforestation.
Parents joined in the celebration of cultures by coming into school and working with their children.
The week culminated in a special whole school assembly where the children shared their experiences with the rest of the school.
