Midday Lunch Break
There is a 55 minutes break between morning and afternoon sessions. This
is to provide time for children and staff to have a midday break. The majority
of children stay at school during this time. Teacher assistants provide a
variety of play activities throughout this break.
- Pack food in a lidded container showing your child’s name
- Avoid any foods such as crisps and chocolate as these can leave grease on the work surfaces and chairs
- Place drinks in non-breakable containers ie flasks. fizzy drinks cause many problems, so avoid these if you can.
Drinking
water is available for the children throughout the day.
Please let us know, in writing, if there is to be any variation in the lunchtime pattern, eg if your child will be going home for lunch on any particular day.
Playtime Snacks
As part of our Healthy Living programme, a free fruit or vegetable snack is provided for each child in Years 1 and 2 and F. Children in Years 3 and 4 may bring in a snack at playtime. Chocolates, cakes and sweets are not allowed.
